New Course: Domestic Violence Awareness
Domestic and family violence occurs when one person in a relationship uses violence or abuse to control the other. This behaviour can include coercive control and non-physical forms like financial or psychological abuse, creating fear and severely impacting the victim's autonomy, independence, and safety.
A major issue in Australia, domestic and family violence can affect anyone, regardless of their background or identity. An estimated 4.2 million adults (21%) have experienced violence, emotional abuse, or economic abuse by a cohabiting partner since the age of 15.
This new course is designed to educate and empower individuals, communities, and organisations to recognise, respond to, and refer victims to appropriate support services.
