2025 government-set fines and penalties
The course now reflects the latest penalties for breaches of liquor and RSA laws across QLD, NT, VIC and NSW. Learners see clear, up-to-date examples that connect everyday service decisions with real compliance consequences.
Protecting patrons from sexual harassment and violence
New modules cover prevention, early intervention and response:
- Recognising harassment, assault and threatening behaviour
- Responding to disclosures with empathy and professionalism
- Immediate steps to support affected patrons and engage help
- Documentation and handover to supervisors, security or police
“Ask for Angela” initiative: how staff should respond
We’ve added practical training on the “Ask for Angela” patron safety campaign:
- What the code means and how patrons may use it
- Discreet response steps that prioritise patron and staff safety
- Integrating protocols into venue plans: escort routes, communications and contacting help
- Venue implementation checklists, signage guidance and role-play scenarios
- Emphasis on staff personal safety and escalation procedures
Drink spiking and predatory behaviour prevention
A new module helps teams identify and act quickly:
- Signs and risk factors for drink spiking
- Preventive practices (e.g. vigilance at service, safeguarding unattended drinks)
- How to respond if spiking is suspected and keep the patron safe
- When and how to escalate to security or authorities
Updated liquor laws and licensing rules by state and territory
We’ve incorporated the latest changes that impact RSA obligations, including:
- Trading hours, lockouts and late-night restrictions
- Rules for minors on licensed premises
- Special events, temporary licences and extended trading permits
- Recent reforms or amendments relevant to QLD, NT, VIC and NSW
Mixed-media learning with video content
To boost engagement and retention, the course now blends short videos with text and interactive activities—ideal for micro-learning and toolbox refreshers.
Who this update is for
- Venue managers and supervisors keeping teams audit-ready
- New starters needing a practical RSA refresher
- Experienced staff looking to stay current on laws and safety protocols
- Security and floor leaders responsible for incident response
Important compliance note
This RSA Recap course is a valuable supplement to formal training. It promotes continuous learning and helps teams maintain responsible service standards. However, it does not replace government-mandated certification or refresher courses required for compliance in your state or territory. Please ensure all staff hold the appropriate, current certification.
