Legal context
Under the Equality Act 2010, all UK employers have a legal duty to protect staff from sexual harassment. From 26 October 2024, the Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) Act strengthens these responsibilities. Employers must take proactive steps to prevent sexual harassment, or risk higher penalties if they fail.
