New Training Pathway: Respect@Work

Published: 26 May 2025

Proactive, inclusive, and legally aligned training for today’s workplaces

Australia’s workplace laws have changed—so too must our approach to preventing harassment and discrimination. That’s why Allara Global has launched the Respect@Work training pathway: a structured, practical learning solution designed to help organisations meet their legal obligations while building safer, more inclusive workplaces.

This pathway equips employees and leaders across all levels with the tools to recognise risk, intervene early, and foster cultures of respect and accountability—going beyond compliance to create lasting cultural change.

What is Respect@Work?

Respect@Work is Australia’s national framework for preventing workplace sexual harassment, developed in response to the 2020 Respect@Work report. Under these reforms, employers have a positive duty to take active steps to eliminate workplace misconduct—not just respond when it happens.

Allara Global’s Respect@Work training pathway directly supports this requirement, helping organisations:

  • Prevent harassment and discrimination
  • Meet positive duty obligations under the SDA and FWA
  • Empower leaders and teams to create psychologically safe workplaces

Pathway structure

The Respect@Work pathway includes three progressive tiers of training content, all included in the Allara Global subscription and mapped to recommended learning plans. Each course is short, accessible, and built for frontline realities.

What you’ll learn

This training pathway is designed to move learners beyond theoretical awareness to real-world confidence. Key learning outcomes include:

  • Understanding legal responsibilities under the Respect@Work framework
  • Recognising and preventing bullying, harassment, and discrimination
  • Building inclusive habits and addressing unconscious bias
  • Creating psychologically safe teams where all voices are heard
  • Leading difficult conversations with confidence and empathy

Each course is practical, scenario-based, and aligned with modern hospitality and services workplaces—so learners walk away ready to act, not just comply.

Legal alignment

The Respect@Work training pathway helps your organisation meet obligations under:

  • Sex Discrimination Act 1984 (SDA)
  • Fair Work Act 2009 (FWA)
  • Respect@Work amendments (2022)

These laws require employers to prevent sexual harassment and related misconduct—not just respond. That means training is no longer optional—it’s a legal and ethical imperative.

Who is this for?

The Respect@Work pathway supports:

  • All employees – to build legal awareness, prevent risk, and contribute to inclusive cultures from day one
  • People leaders – to lead confidently, uphold accountability, and meet positive duty obligations
  • HR, L&D, and compliance teams – to support onboarding, stay audit-ready, and reduce admin with pre-built learning plans

Whether you’re introducing compliance training for new hires or strengthening leadership culture, this pathway ensures your team is prepared, protected, and aligned with current law.
