Mateship Manual for the hospitality industry

Published: 13 April 2021

National charity R U OK? has launched a new guide to supporting someone in the hospitality industry who’s doing it tough.

Hospitality is an exciting yet demanding industry where external pressures can have a significant financial and emotional impact. This has become more acute due to disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The added stress can be difficult for people to cope with both in the short and longer-term and that’s why it’s always better to ask R U OK? if you’re concerned someone in your work family or the industry may be struggling.

The R U OK? ‘Mateship Manual for the hospitality industry’ provides guidance and tips to help you support someone at work, in the industry or in your personal life now and into the future. The manual was informed by the R U OK? Hospitality Expert Reference Group.

To learn the signs that someone might be struggling, how to ask them “are you OK?” and how to provide support you can download the Manual and other free R U OK? resources now.
