Press Release

ClubsNSW partners with trusted training provider Allara

04 February 2026

ClubsNSW has unveiled a landmark partnership with Allara, a global leader in workforce education and training, to strengthen club boards and provide staff with more opportunities to develop their careers.

The announcement follows a competitive tender process and an extensive review of the Association’s offerings to examine how board directors can be upskilled to ensure the long-term viability of community clubs.

Purpose-built for the NSW club industry, Allara will deliver education and training aimed at seeing participants go above and beyond simply meeting compliance obligations.

The partnership is also designed to enhance development pathways for the many dedicated staff who want to grow professionally and seek a long-term career within the hospitality sector.

“Over the past few years, the New South Wales club industry has made a concerted effort to upskill the dedicated volunteers who serve on the board of their local club,” said ClubsNSW CEO Rebecca Riant.

“This partnership between ClubsNSW and Allara will ensure that the directors and management teams of registered clubs have access to world-class learning and development opportunities.

“Not only will this help to ensure the long-term viability of registered clubs and the communities they serve, it will also mean the dedicated staff who work in clubs will be supported to grow and have long-term careers in the hospitality sector.”

Allara CEO Andrew Lewis echoed Ms Riant’s sentiments.

"This partnership is about attracting, nurturing and retaining talent in an industry we love,” said Mr Lewis.

“By working collaboratively with ClubsNSW, we can strengthen the sector’s ability to bring new people into hospitality, support clear career pathways for growth and create a stronger funnel of talent into the industry for the long term."

Allara is no stranger to the industry, with many registered clubs having already utilised the company for a range of staff training courses.

In collaboration with DOOLEYS, Allara developed a customised training program to allow employees from various departments and levels of management to enhance their leadership skills to better manage their teams.

The Club also sought to improve employee retention by providing development and growth opportunities to support employees’ career progression through the business.

“These leadership courses are absolutely invaluable,” said DOOLEYS Group Functions Manager John Jansen in a recent testimonial.

“Every day is a learning experience… the best part about it is you walk away feeling like you’re on a bit of a high because you’ve learnt something new. The training that Allara has provided has been absolutely fantastic.”

When the Wests Group sought to formalise their training pathways, boost staff confidence and support long-term career progression, all while aligning with industry best practices, they also turned to Allara — with enormous success.

“We saw a significant increase in staff retention when investing in staff to complete the Certificate III in Hospitality, reflecting the positive impact of the training on both employee satisfaction and team stability,” said Wests Group Chief People Officer Rachel Jones in a recent testimonial.

Alt. Hospitality Group — whose venues include Club Central Menai, Club Central Hurstville and Georges River Sailing Club — engaged Allara to conduct masterclasses for a variety of their teams.

“The sessions were engaging, informative and packed with the kind of skills and knowledge that truly elevate hospitality,” said Alt. Hospitality Group Learning & Development Manager Marea Getsios in a recent testimonial.

Purpose-built for clubs and delivered by Allara, this suite of training courses is designed to grow capability beyond compliance and position registered clubs as hospitality leaders.
