Welcome aboard, Deery Hotels!

We extend a warm welcome to the Deery family-owned and operated historical gems: The Story Bridge Hotel and The Woodford Hotel.

The Story Bridge Hotel
The Story Bridge Hotel, an iconic establishment in Brisbane, holds a special place in the hearts of generations of residents and visitors alike. Today, the hotel is managed by Richard and Jane Deery, who have taken over from their father, Barrie, ensuring its legacy as one of the last remaining family-owned and operated hotels in Brisbane.

With several entertainment areas, including restaurants, bars, and inviting outdoor dining spaces, the Story Bridge Hotel offers the perfect setting to unwind and indulge in a delicious dinner, a casual lunch, or refreshing drinks. Renowned for its fine food, extensive range of beers, quality wines, and spirits, the hotel has earned an enviable reputation.

As a true landmark, The Story Bridge Hotel continues to charm both locals and visitors, preserving its status as an integral part of Brisbane's cultural fabric.

The Woodford Hotel
The Woodford Hotel’s humble beginning started in 1909 when Kate Elliot built the hotel to cater to the demands of the newly arrived railway. The hotel has served as a prominent feature of the local township as it has passed from owner to owner. Throughout the years the Hotel has played host to several events that have put Woodford on the map including woodchopping, boxing matches, and cattle sales run by the previous owners of the Hotel.

The hotel last changed hands in September 2019 when the Deery Family took over ownership.
