What UK compliance actually asks of you

There's rarely a single certificate that makes a venue compliant here. What counts is that you've trained your team properly and can show you took reasonable steps to prevent harm — the test an inspector, an employment tribunal, or your insurer will apply. In some areas that bar is rising: from October 2026, for instance, you can be liable if a customer harasses one of your staff and you haven't done enough to prevent it. Scotland and Northern Ireland set some of their own rules on food, licensing, and fire, so the detail shifts a little depending on where you operate.

Depending on the organisation, courses may be assured, endorsed or certified against their respective standards — and several of our courses carry this independent recognition. This provides additional assurance around the standards applied to the training, but it isn't a government-regulated qualification or a legal licence to work, and doesn't replace any certification the law separately requires.
